消失了....

今天一早起來發現鳥巢竟然空了，想說班鳩寶寶飛走了嗎？但是看到斑鳩媽媽還站在圍籬上，會不會是掉出來了？四下搜尋，果然在架子下方發現了寶寶的行蹤。既然母鳥有在看管，我也就去做自己的事了。

This morning I found that the nest on my balcony was empty, first I thought maybe the baby bird had flown away. But I saw the mother bird was still standing on the fence, so maybe the baby had fell out of the nest? After looking around, I did find it sitting under the shelf. I thought since the mother bird was watching over it, I’ll just take care of my business first.

 

過了一陣子，忽然聽見兩隻斑鳩的咕咕聲，轉身一看，發現斑鳩爸爸和斑鳩媽媽不斷在陽台上跳來跳去發出呼聲，好像在尋找班鳩寶寶。我開門一看，果然寶寶又跑不見了，找了半天才發現牠跑到玻璃門和回收袋之間的空隙，難怪爸爸媽媽找不到。只聽見小鳥不斷發出呼聲，母鳥也不斷出聲回應。我想說這樣牠遲早會被找到就又不管牠去做自己的事了。

After a while, I suddenly heard two birds cooing, and found that both mother bird and father bird were jumping up and down the balcony cooing, acted like they were searching for the baby. I looked  under the shelf and the baby was gone again. This time I found it sitting between my recycle bag and the glass door, no wonder its father and mother couldn’t find it. It was very fascinating watching the mother bird answering the baby’s calling. I thought they would find each other eventually so I walked away again.

一小時之後再去觀察，斑鳩寶寶竟然飛到了陽台邊的花架上。這次爸爸媽媽都不在附近，也許是我靠太近驚動到牠，寶寶突然站起來飛了出去！！我也嚇了一大跳很怕牠掉下去結果忽然間飛來一隻大烏鴉差一點就抓到了斑鳩寶寶！！我怕小鳥被烏鴉傷到了便飛奔到樓下，最後在車庫的角落裡找到斑鳩寶寶。只見那大烏鴉還在附近徘徊不去，我趕了好幾次才趕走。當下我很掙扎，到底該不該把小鳥抓回陽台上去呢？最後我決定上樓去拿袋子，再下來時小鳥就不見了...。我四下又找了好久都找不到只好放棄了。

An hour later I looked again and found that the baby bird had flown onto the shelf close to the balcony railing. This time its father and mother were not around, and I might have gotten too close so the baby bird suddenly stood up and flew away!! I was so shock and just I was worrying that it would fall to the ground, a big raven came out of no where and almost got the baby bird!!! Fearing that the raven might have hurt the baby bird, I ran downstairs to the garage, and finally found it in the corner of the garage. That raven was circling around and wouldn’t leave, I have to chase it several times to finally get it out of sight. I debated if I should pick up the baby bird and return it to the balcony. Finally I ran back up to grab a bag, but when I returned, it was gone again. I searched high and low but couldn’t find it, and finally just have to give up.

  

後來斑鳩爸爸媽媽回來了，我看著牠們飛上飛下、飛到對面屋簷陽台一直呼喊寶寶可是都找不到，真得很難過。牠們真的就這樣找了一個下午一直找到天黑。我真的超內疚的，因為小鳥是被我嚇走的...。希望斑鳩寶寶飛到了安全的地方，也許明天牠就會被找到了....。

After the father and mother bird came back, I saw them flying up and down cooing, jumping from balcony to balcony searching for the baby but couldn’t find it. I was heartbroken….. They cooed all afternoon until it was dark out. I felt so guilty, cause it was me that scared the baby bird away. I could only hope that the baby bird had flew to a safe place, and maybe it would be found tomorrow…..
