New Laptop....

Sam got me a new laptop today. He is trying to get me off the second floor because he wants to focus on his study but I'm using the desktop computer upstairs, so his solution is to get a new laptop for me so I can stay downstairs and not bother him. After arguing with him several times and some bumps along the road, he went out and got one after all.

 

I'm totally a computer idiot so I really don't care much about what's inside the computer. As long as it looks good and functions well, I usually don't complain much. I think this is why I've never bought a computer on my own.... My first computer was a gift and my friend assembled it for me when I was back in Syracuse. It was very basic and only had a dial up Internet service. But that computer actually stayed with me the longest, it traveled with me to Chicago and stayed with me till I moved down to Texas. I guess I really didn't mind using the dial up since I didn't really use it much at home because I was on the computer all day at work, and usually didn't feel like to face a computer again when I got home. I finally got rid of it when I moved to Texas, but still kept the keyboard cause it has the Chinese characters on it (in fact, I'm using it right now!!) Besides his laptop, Sam had just bought a desktop computer before I moved down so that became my computer till this day. Then Sam's brother gave me his old laptop when I was back in Taiwan, but it broke down on me and I have no idea why it did. I actually like using desktop computers better, I just feel like laptops are not tough enough for me!! Let's just hope this Acer will pull through.....

 

New computer means new system, and this one has Windows Vista on. Maybe it's because I not use to it, I feel like Vista sucks!!!! It is really fancy, but I just don't feel like it is user friendly. But like I said, maybe after using it for a while I will get use to it and it might grow on me then. (Ok, ok, I'll admit I'm old fashioned and don't like changes...) This reminded me of the Apple vs. PC commercials I saw on TV, you know, those one that has one person represent PC and one that represents Apple, I love those commercials!!! Anyway, before I experienced Windows Vista, I didn't really get their new commercials about the security thing, but after using it, I totally got it!! Really!! It is just like the commercial, every time there is a new program running, the security thing will pop up and ask you "Cancel or Allowed", so annoying!!!! But the ad is really funny!!!

Anyway, I'll try to keep this new laptop alive as long as possible, since someone else paid for it, I guess I really shouldn't complain too much!!
